Canadian

Las Altenas, an all-female mariachi ensemble, will perform in Canadian at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Texas Crown Performance Hall, 404 S. Sixth St.

The group from San Antonio formed in 2002 and released its debut album, "Sentimiento de Mujer," in 2008.

Tickets to the show are $15 for adults and $5 for students.

Bushland

Bushland Independent School District's 20th Block Party is scheduled this weekend.

Country and Western musician Michael Martin Murphey will headline the event with a concert scheduled at 3 p.m. Sunday at Bushland High School, 2300 Wells St.

Tickets to the block party are $25.

The Block Party's festival, with food, music and a race competition, is planned from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Bushland High.
