Khiva Shrine sets fundraiser events

A full day of festivities is planned Saturday for the Khiva Shrine Center's fundraiser.

All activities are planned in downtown Amarillo, near the Khiva Shrine Center, 305 E. Fifth Ave.

The event begins with a car show at 8 a.m.

Vehicles of all varieties will be on display. The show, which continues to 3 p.m., is free to the public.

Food cook-off competitions are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Contest categories include chili, hamburgers, steaks and open. Cook-off events are free for spectators.

A party will follow the food events at 4 p.m.

Five bands - Lonesome Goat, the Chancy Bernson Band, the Deathwriters, the Michael Van Band and Whiskey Rebellion - are scheduled to perform.

Tickets to the party are $15, plus $5 per cooler.
